My Thoughts
Rachel and I in some ways are so different; but we have many shared experiences in other ways. Being a woman in the church and even more so being a Queer woman in the church brings many commonalities, a bonding that no one really wants but that we have.
However, its these shared experiences that help us to not feel so alone while deconstructing which can be such an isolating experience.

Rachel is a Minister’s kid, eldest daughter, who grew up in the church and did all the ‘right’ things from a young age, but realised over time that being a bisexual feminist with an environmental science degree didn’t sit that well in certain church circles. She asked too many questions and poked at the wrong bears. Which queued the pain and continued deconstruction…
