Relationship Therapy

What is Relationship Therapy?

Relationship therapy isn’t just for couples in romantic relationships. It’s for anyone navigating the tricky, beautiful, complicated connections that shape our lives. Whether it’s partners, family, chosen family, friends, or co-parents, relationships carry the weight of our pasts and beliefs. Religious trauma and spiritual abuse often leave cracks in these connections, making trust, communication, and intimacy feel impossible at times.

In this space, we work together to heal those cracks. I support queer and polyamorous relationships, and non-traditional family setups. As well as couples from all faith and spiritual backgrounds. It’s about creating connection that honours who you all are without the harmful scripts and control many religious environments impose.

What Does Relationship Therapy Look Like?

We get real about what’s going on beneath the surface. The fears, the grief, the hurt, but also the hope. You’ll learn how to talk openly and safely about the parts of your identity and experience that have caused tension or silence. Whether it’s navigating spiritual differences, healing from the impact of religious trauma, trust and intimacy, or unpacking the complicated feelings around identity and acceptance. I’ll hold a space where honesty and curiosity can grow.

We also work on practical tools, communication skills, boundary setting, and ways to support each other’s healing journeys. If you’re queer, poly, or in a relationship shaped outside societal norms, I’ll make sure your relationship thrives on respect and authenticity, not shame or secrecy.

Who Is This For?

Relationship counselling here is for:

  • Couples grappling with faith differences, religious trauma, or spiritual abuse fallout.

  • Queer and poly relationships seeking to build connection outside of heteronormative or religious scripts.

  • Friends, chosen family, or co-parents navigating relational strain caused by religious control or family fallout.

  • Anyone feeling stuck in cycles of misunderstanding, silence, or pain triggered by belief systems or trauma.

  • Those wanting to improve communication, rebuild trust or explore and strengthen intimacy.

  • People who want to rebuild or strengthen their connections in ways that respect all parts of their identity.

The Details

Consistency is key: I see clients at the same day and time each week or every fortnight, depending on what works best for you. Having a regular spot helps build a steady rhythm, which is crucial when you’re healing from trauma, or rebuilding your sense of self and relationships. Your nervous system thrives on this kind of routine, and it creates a safe container for the work we do together.

Appointment Structure: Before we have any joint sessions, I meet with each person in the relationship individually. This gives everyone a chance to share their story, speak openly, and feel heard without pressure. It also helps me understand the full picture so our time together in joint sessions is more productive, respectful, and safe for everyone involved.

Fees:

  • Individual sessions are $165 + GST per 50 minute session
  • Joint sessions are $195 + GST per 50 minute session.
  • 90 minute sessions may be possible after prior discussion and at an increased rate
